EGYPT DIVING SAFARI

There are many diving options in Egypt, ranging from the vibrant reefs of the north to the remote sites of the south. Choose between liveaboard adventures for maximum site access or shore-based resorts for a relaxed experience—or even a combination of both. Egypt caters to all levels of divers, with beginner-friendly sites like Ras Mohammed and Tiran Strait, while advanced divers can explore thrilling locations like the Brothers, Daedalus, and the iconic Thistlegorm wreck. Elphinstone Reef

The Red Sea is a year-round diving destination, but the seasons vary across its regions, offering different conditions, marine life encounters, and experiences depending on the time of year.

January - March

Conditions: Cooler water temperatures (21–23°C) with excellent visibility and calm seas.

Highlights:

Egypt (South): Dive sites like Elphinstone, St. John’s, and Fury Shoals offer vibrant reefs and chances to spot oceanic whitetip sharks.

Saudi Arabia (Farasan Banks): Pristine reefs and calm conditions make this a great time to explore uncrowded sites.

Sudan: Hammerhead sharks congregate around Shaab Rumi and Sanganeb, and the weather is ideal for liveaboards. (note: travel to Sudan is currently on hold for security reasons).

 
April - June

Conditions: Warmer waters (24–27°C) and generally calm seas, perfect for liveaboards and extended trips.

Highlights:

Egypt (North): Wreck diving is at its best, with sites like the Thistlegorm and Abu Nuhas benefiting from excellent visibility.

Saudi Arabia (Al Lith): Peak season for whale shark encounters alongside vibrant coral reefs.

Jordan (Aqaba): Calm conditions and warm water make it an ideal time for diving the coral gardens and wrecks near the shore.

 
July - September

Conditions: Warmest water temperatures (28–30°C) but potentially stronger winds, especially in Egypt’s north.

Highlights:

Egypt (Brothers, Daedalus, Elphinstone): Peak season for pelagic encounters, including hammerheads, oceanic whitetips, and thresher sharks.

Saudi Arabia (Farasan Banks): Continued excellent conditions with vibrant reefs and healthy fish populations.

Sudan: Warm waters and fewer divers make this an adventurous and rewarding destination for hammerheads and pristine reefs. (note: travel to Sudan is currently on hold for security reasons).

 
October - December

Conditions: Cooler waters (24–26°C) return, along with calm seas and exceptional visibility.

Highlights:

Egypt (Ras Mohammed and Tiran): Calm seas and perfect conditions for exploring vibrant coral gardens and abundant marine life.

Saudi Arabia (Yanbu and Al Lith): Pristine reefs with diverse marine life, and fewer divers.

Sudan: Excellent visibility and thriving shark populations make this one of the best times to dive its remote sites. (note: travel to Sudan is currently on hold for security reasons).
