and feel as if you had drunk half a bottle of champagne
– bubbling over with heartfelt gratitude for being alive."
Out of Africa, Karen Blixen, 1937

Our Story

It all began in the 1920s when Bansi’s grandparents embarked on a life-changing journey, sailing by dhow to Kenya, taking three months to arrive at their destination and new home. They settled in Nairobi, then a small town where wildlife roamed freely and residents carried guns at night for protection against lions.

Fast forward a few decades, Bansi’s father became an avid photographer and explorer at a young age, and began visiting local national parks in the late 1950s. He shared his passion by taking friends on expeditions, even venturing into Tanzania’s Serengeti and Uganda’s national parks.

Growing up, Bansi frequently visited Kenya’s national parks. She cherishes memories of her first wild elephant & giraffe encounters, regular visits to Daphne Sheldrick’s Elephant Orphanage, and seeing zebra and even rhino cross the road on the way to the airport.

Today we continue this legacy of discovery and exploration.
